XIV Profitability is a free, browser-based toolkit that helps Final Fantasy XIV players decide the fastest, most reliable ways to earn gil on their home world. It pulls live market-board prices and pairs them with the game's crafting, gathering, and vendor data so you can see — at a glance — what's actually worth your time.
Whether you're a crafter deciding which recipes to mass-produce, a gatherer choosing a node route, a flipper hunting vendor-to-market spreads, or a retainer manager picking the best venture, the goal is the same: stop guessing. Instead of opening the market board on dozens of items one at a time, XIV Profitability ranks the options by estimated profit using real, current prices from your world.
It's aimed at everyone from new players trying to afford their first mount to veteran traders optimizing a spreadsheet's worth of listings — no account, no add-ons, and nothing to install.
The app combines two kinds of information. First, static game data: recipes and their ingredients, gathering nodes, monster drops, vendor inventories, retainer ventures, and item details. This ships with the app as a local database, so browsing is instant and works offline.
Second, live prices: when you open a tool, the app fetches current market-board listings and recent sales for the relevant items from the community price aggregator and shows the math — cost of materials, expected sale price, fees, and the resulting margin. Prices are cached briefly in your browser so repeat visits stay fast, and every figure is an estimate based on the most recent data available for your world.
You choose your world once when you arrive. Every calculation — profit, spread, gil-per-day — is then specific to that world's economy, because the same item can be worth wildly different amounts across servers and data centers.
Some items are sold by in-game vendors for a fixed gil price but resell on the market board for much more. This tool finds those spreads: buy from the NPC, list on the board, pocket the difference. It accounts for the board's transaction fee and ranks flips by profit per unit.
The reverse case — occasionally the market price of an item drops below what an NPC will pay to buy it from you. This tool surfaces those moments so you can buy cheap listings and sell them straight to a vendor for a guaranteed gil profit.
Within a data center you can travel between worlds and buy directly from other worlds' boards. This tool compares prices across your data center to find items that are cheap on one world and expensive on another, so you can buy low, travel, and sell high (or simply shop smarter).
For each craftable item, the tool adds up the current market cost of its ingredients and compares that to the item's sale price, ranking recipes by profit margin. It's the quickest way to find which crafts are actually paying out right now versus which have been undercut into the ground.
Miners and botanists have limited time and a lot of nodes to choose from. This tool estimates gil-per-day for gatherable items based on their current market value, helping you pick routes that are worth the trip rather than farming something that's crashed in price.
Many marketable materials drop from monsters. The farming tool lists which mobs drop a given item and where to find them, so combat-minded players can turn a farming session into gil. Drop locations are compiled from community data and span open-world zones as well as dungeons.
Retainer ventures are a passive income source, but the payout varies a lot by item. This tool ranks ventures by the current market value of what they return, so your retainers come home with the most valuable haul instead of vendor trash.
A browsable reference of what each NPC vendor sells and where they stand. Useful on its own for tracking down a specific item, and the backbone of the NPC-flip calculations.
Look up any item to see its market price, where it comes from (recipe, node, drop, vendor, or venture), and how it fits into the other tools.
Live prices come from Universalis, a community-run aggregator of Final Fantasy XIV market-board data. Item, recipe, and world data is derived from public sources including XIVAPI and community data projects. Prices and profitability change constantly as players buy, sell, and undercut one another, so treat every number as a well-informed estimate rather than a guarantee.
It's completely free. The site is supported by advertising, which is what keeps it available to everyone at no charge.
No. There's no sign-up and nothing to install. Your chosen world and a short-lived price cache are stored only in your own browser.
Prices move minute to minute, and the tool uses the most recent data it can fetch for your world. Large or thinly-traded items can also have volatile listings. Always sanity-check a promising result on the in-game board before committing a lot of gil.
This web app works in any modern mobile browser. There's also a native Android app for the same toolkit.
